Farm Kings....new format??????

OK, obviously the first episode of Season 3 hasn't even wrapped yet but any thoughts on the new format?  A narrator?  Seriously?  I'll blog my usual recap & thoughts tomorrow or Saturday (or whenever I can hide from the holiday craziness for a bit) but curious what y'all think.  I'm personally of the theory that they had a good thing so why mess with it.  If it ain't broken....

First- love the show! Love the 'home grown goodness' of it! Thanks for opening your life and sharing it! We are 20 mins into the first show and I don't care for the narrators voice. I personally think It should be one of you guys. The voice seems way outta place. But that's just my opinion and ya know what they say about opinions!! Lol.

Sarah...I am so super bummed about Season 3. I mean, I was so excited and then...whaat?? A narrator? Seriously wrong. It made it so painful to watch and sucked all the energy out of the episode. Plus, it just seems way too slick and scripted. It sucks that they did this to a great show...it wasn't broke and it didn't need fixin! Can't wait to see what you thought...:)

Tabitha~ thanks for reading the blog. I'm not related to or affiliated with the Kings. I just love the show and blog about it often! Hopefully you'll join in some of the conversations we have! I don't like the addition of a narrator at all but agree if that's what they really want then one of the Kings would surely be a better choice than what they have now! Thanks again for checking out the blog!

Lydia~ Thanks for the comment! I got your email the other day too and will respond soon! I agree with you though....I'm not down with the narrator. SO, it seems as the consensus here is that the narrator should be 86'd. I still love the show of course but the narrator is seriously distracting! I'll try to do my episode recap tonight or tomorrow. We're in the middle of Christmas crazy here, PB starts Christmas vacation in an hour, I'm still pretty damn sick and a dear family friend is having some really big issues we're trying to help with as much as we can. Thanks for being a loyal blog reader!

I thought the format was a little off-putting. Sort of like an after school special. It also seemed more scripted than usual. Took some getting used to but of course, I'll keep watching.

Thanks for the well wishes Lydia! I'll be fine. Probably need surgery but life will be just peachy. A few Farm Kings for Christmas would be fabulous! PB wants some Freedom Farms t-shirts and the calendar. I'm leery about the calendar because you can't see month by month what the pics are. Since the Farmers Almanac is predicting such a nasty Illinois winter this year I'm trying to convince her to wait until her birthday for some t-shirts. She's growing so fast that I don't want to buy something that will fit now but she'll be cold in and then might not fit in the spring and summer, kwim? I did promise PB that one of the days of her Christmas vacation could be our own Farm Kings marathon. We'd stay in jammies all day be bums and just watch whatever episodes she wants to! I really do wish they would release Season 1 & 2 on DVD! I hope you have a wonderful holiday too!

Hi Sarah, just checking in..so sorry to read about you and PB not feeling well, take care! I too, did not like the new format at all. They used to have the family members sit inone place and just talk..that would be much appreciated now..and come on, Dan taking Sat off? Scripted all the way..wondering how Sam's strawberries did..and so what if Bitty is getting married? They have been together for a long time. Then pork lard for Lisa's pies??? Maybe someone new is in charge..just didn't hit the spot at this house..hope next week is better..feel better Sarah!

Today on GAC with Nan Kelly, she said they were supposed to have an interview with the Farm Kings, but bad weather prevented this, and she also said lots of good things happening and news, with a big smile..I am wondering if thatdad's farm house was sold and somehow defaulted, and may be back on the market, could that be the big story line? They keep rerunning that epidode about them not being able to afford the old homestead..just thinking out loud I guess...I miss the old format..

I fast forward whenever the narrator talks. This show is not as good as it used to be.
