Updates & more giveaways!

Sorry its been a few days....I'm still recovering! Princess Bear's (PB) birthday party was on Saturday.....at Chuck E Cheese. Next time I mention going there on a weekend please just shoot me on sight!!! That could quite possibly be the longest 3 hours of my life! On the upside of it Princess Bear had a wonderful time (other than when Chuck E himself was around & then it was back under the table!). My friend Monika gave PB a baby Strawberry Shortcake doll. PB has taken that everywhere the past few days. Up to and including.............drum roll please.....

Her first day of kindergarten. Today....enter sobs here.



My baby isn't a baby anymore!!! PB got sick yesterday. The kiddo made it through the whole summer relatively healthy and then the day before school gets an all out sinus infection. I think its because her allergies when into overdrive. She spend most of Sunday outside swimming with Maria's kids. She woke up yesterday just a complete little snotball (I say this with lots of love but seriously the kid was dripping, shooting and doing some other disgusting things with snot!). I gave her some Benadryl and was hoping for the best. I knew that I was in trouble when she took an over 3 hour nap. She woke up running 100.1 (everyone in this family runs very low and her average is 97.1). I was on the phone with the Dr's office ASAP. PB had a really rough night but wanted to go to school today so I decided to give it a shot. It was a short day anyway. All went well until I got to school to pick her up. I ran into my friend Nicole who told me that Kiernan had done very well that morning...yeah!!! Then they send parents of kindergarteners into the gym to pick up their kids. No Princess Bear. I look at Nicole and ask her if she sees PB anywhere. Nope. Trying not to let a full panic set in I finally get the teachers attention enough to find out where PB is. They sent her over to the Round (the airconditioned part of the building). PB said school was "fine". Ok...I guess all is well that ends well!

Is it naptime yet?!!!!?

Yes, I am still alive! Just very rushed right now! Wrapping up the summer and then starting the new school year. I started classes on Tuesday. Chemistry...not my favorite thing and I have a tough prof w/ no discernible personality. Should make for a fun semester!!!!

Princess Bear add her kindergarten roundup the other night. For a child that loves school it didn't go well at first. She wouldn't even walk into the building. After some coaxing and then threatening to leave her outside by herself she finally followed me & my mom in. I had all the fun paperwork all ready to go and already knew who her teachers are because of her IEP meeting. (For those of you who don't know what an IEP meeting is its an Individual Education Plan meeting...all therapists, teachers, specialists and family are called in...hopefully only once a year! to plan for the next year). One of the things that has been stressed since the start of school last year is that air conditioning needed to be put in PB's new room. The first 2 years PB was in an all air conditioned part of the building that was called "the Round". Strictly special ed and therapies. Since PB is going to be in an integrated room this year there is no A/C in the room. Not usually a necessity but in PB's case HUGE necessity. (PB cannot regulate her body temperate and overheats very easily. If her temp isn't monitored she can have seizures or go into heat stroke...it doesn't take much either). It was written into her IEP last May but the Principal alerted everyone much earlier. As of today no A/C. They aren't sure when it will be ready (its a window unit for Petes sake! Get the unit there and my dad & I will put it in!!!) I'm trying to remain calm but I don't know how long that will last!

PB is wrapping up the summer in grand style...she's been swimming daily this week and her birthday is (finally!!!) going to be this Saturday. I'll post pics! On a sad note our neighbor Ryan is not staying in school but moving back home. PB is so attached to him so I'm a bit worried about him not being around.

Now for the comic relief of today. I got a call from my sister earlier this evening & she wanted to speak to my parents..no go she was stuck talking to me. Tyler had his 2nd swim lesson tonight and is a water kiddo just like PB. A little girl leaned over in class and poked Tyler in the eye. Tyler reached over and popped her little check...then they started holding hands (I don't remember but isn't this a bit early for 9 months?!!?). I've been having a grand time telling my sister that her son bitch slapped a little girl!!!

OK, here goes...

1) I really dislike being outside. My family calls me a vampire. I don't like being too warm or cold and I can't stand rain or bugs. Consequently there is very little time I like just being outdoors.

2) After reading number 1 this won't make sense but I like camping and miss it since I haven't done it in a very long time. I think it has a lot more to do with being away from all electronics and just being able to relax and read (which is what I do when camping!). I curl up on or in my sleeping back with a book or two!

3) I have a HUGE fear of abandonment/ being left. I think this is because my grandma "forgot" me in the store a few times when I was younger. Considering how outgoing I usually am this fear doesn't make much sense.

4) I can't stand not having something to read in the bathroom. If there isn't a newspaper, book or magazine I'll resort to reading the Kleenex box!

5) I sort my meals in to items and eat everything individually until done. I'm not one of those people that can eat a bite of turkey, then stuffing and then mashed potatoes.

6) Considering the amount of time I have spend on a control journal and brain in a binder I'm still crazy unorganized!!!

One more way to become sleep deprived!

Well, without trying I have found one more way to not sleep! Last night around 10:30I was sitting in the recliner in my bedroom watching some TV and trying to fall asleep. Now a bit of background; my bedroom is a corner room with one side being the side of the house with one window and the other exterior wall is a backyard wall with two windows. Well, I'm sitting there doing my best impression of someone trying to go to sleep at a normal time and suddenly there is a light outside my window. Like a flashlight kind of light. It moves around by my window and then turns off. HELLO! Totally freaking out at this point! I rush into my parents room looking for my dad. My mom is there so I ask where my dad is because he needs to go outside with the baseball bat. My mom is like no go tell your dad to call 911. My dad calls 911 and stays on the phone with them until they get here. The 2 officers thoroughly searched our backyard and our neighbors. They were very nice about it. They found no one in the yard but were sending extra patrols around the house and neighborhood. Needless to say I'm a bit freaked out! Just another fun filled day in my life right?!!?

Today is one of those days that I really just want to crawl back in bed and try over again. I think the fact that it followed yesterday didn't help. In all honesty I'm too PMSy and tired to rational about anything right now. I want a do over!!! That said I will say that my room and Princess Bears room is still nice and neat! I'm getting ready to gear up for starting up my business (little girls accessories) as well as possibly starting another (I have ideas for 2 more in the works!). Now I'm just trying to find some super cute blogger templates (Free of course!). If you have any great advice on finding a cute template please let me know!
