Ok...its official! Men suck!

Ok...totally new news to you, right?!!!? I'm still dealing with some fall out of my ex fiancee's son wanting to get in touch with his father. (For those who don't know/ remember the story you can catch up here

Cameron (Wayne's son) and I emailed a few times & I sent him a picture I had of Wayne. I told him I'd try to find his grandfathers number & send it to him. Cameron sent me his phone numbers but I didn't call. I couldn't find his grandfathers phone number. I was still looking through all my junk but couldn't find it. I didn't see what the point in calling Cameron was. Honestly, although I loved Wayne with all my heart I'm so disappointed and jaded at this point and don't think its fair to share those negative feelings with Cameron. In my mind although Cameron is 18 he's still a kid, know what I mean? Its just the mom in me coming out. Anyway, I sent Cameron an email the other day telling him I hadn't forgotten about him & I'd resume the search. Life is calmer with both Princess Bear & myself in school. I also let the friend of mine who'd actually found Cameron know that I was trying to figure out the best way of getting Cameron in touch with Wayne without me actually having any contact with Wayne. As a side note my friends and I are pretty damn good at tracking people down when we feel so inclined. My friend sniffed out Wayne's lovely (I mean that with every bit of sarcasm I can muster) step daughter (she's 28). I'm not going to say that my friend was handling things correctly or that she isn't somewhat overprotective but in all honesty the man but me through hell. This girl Ashlee (the step daughter) wound up being so rude to my friend. My friend explained that she was just trying to get Cameron in touch with his father. This girl was rude and hateful. Now my friends and I are all pretty much the same way, it takes a lot to piss us off but once you have you better head for the hills because you're done for. My dad always taught us to never start a fight but to always finish one. So Ashlee calls my friend who she doesn't even know a psychotic Navy Whore...not cool. It was time to bring it. What I don't understand is that I was the one who was wronged by Wayne. I was the one hurt by him. I was the one that was lied to. I was the one betrayed. I was the one that didn't do anything wrong. HE was the one that played the role of the coward and bailed. HE was the one that couldn't be an adult and obviously doesn't know from the truth and wouldn't know what it was if it hit him upside the head. I don't understand his contempt of me & why he seems to lie about me to anyone and everyone. When I contacted his father years ago its because I wanted to know where to send an award & some paperwork that had been sent to my house! It seems as though he's found a lovely family that is full of charm, upstanding morals and ethics and he's fitting right in! I know that I shouldn't let this bother me although I'd still love an explanation! I also know that Wayne has probably told Cameron some really awful things about me. I know he did it with his dad. It shouldn't bother me because Cameron is never going to be a part of my world. I just hate that Wayne could do this especially when I was just trying to help Cameron get some of the answers he wanted. Part of my wants so badly to show Cameron the original blog I wrote about Wayne and his disappearing act so he could see that his dad is really a selfish jerk. I'd love to save the kid from some heartache since Wayne doesn't know what commitment in any sense of the word is evidently.

Anyway, I just needed to vent this out! Thanks for listening! I'm now going to go try once again to calm my friend down! (She just wants to go out to CA and find Wayne & his stepdaughter and knock their heads together until they're both unconscious!....thank goodness we've outgrown the hop in the car we're going on a road trip phase of our lives!). Have a great weekend!!!

I'm so a sucker for these!

So in my daily (ok...I try to make it daily!) check of blogs Heather had done another quiz so of course I have to see what my results are. I took a few!

Your Dosha is Kapha
Calm and grounded, you are not prone to mood swings or anger.
However, once you do get angry, it takes a lot to cool you down.
You tend to think a little slower than most people, but your logic is astounding.
Overall, you very loyal and trustworthy. You're not scared of being who you really are.

With friends: You enjoy their company, but often listen more than talk

In love: You crave connection and affection. It's hard for you to be single.

To achieve more balance: Exercise vigorously (especially in the sun) and let go of attachments.
The part about me being angry is so true. It takes a lot to really get me there but once I'm there...watch out buddy! I do love affection & connection & do dislike like being single for the most part...but I'm ok with it for right now!

Your Love Life is Like Pretty Woman
"I want the fairy tale"

You believe that love is truly blind, unpredictable, and surprising. Two very different people can easily find true love.
At least, that is how it will happen when you marry a gorgeous billionaire someday ;-)

Your love style: Sensual and flirty

Your Hollywood Ending Will Be: Surprisingly happy
What Movie Is Your Love Life Like?
Yep...this is so me! I'm waiting for my happily ever after!!! Anytime now would be ok!!! :)

Your Risk Taking Level: Medium-High
You're not afraid of a little (or a lot) of risk.
In fact, you pretty much live to take chances.

Consequences be damned, you are willing to go for it.
And if it doesn't work out, at least people can't say you didn't try!
Are You a Risk Taker?
Yep...act first think later (Oh sh#t! What did I just do?!!!?)

You Are Fairly Normal
You scored 65% normal on this quiz

Like most people you are normal in some ways...
But you aren't a completely normal person. You're a little weird too!

Why You Are Normal:

You prefer ruffled potato chips

When you're in a car, you prefer to be the driver

If given the choice, you would choose to have more money over more time

You rather be screwed over than screw someone else over

You check your daily horoscope

Why You Aren't Normal:

You know a little about many subjects

You prefer the moon to the sun

You would rather be tan than pale

You would not eat meat from a cloned animal

You eat the cupcake first
Not sure about this one. I like the moon b/c I hate being hot and associate the sun with hot. I do have a sun tattoo though! I'd rather be tan b/c I'm ghostly white!!! I managed a tanning salon & really miss the free tanning! How could anyone consider eating cloned meat?!!!? I eat the cake first b/c icing is my favorite & I save the best for last! Cakes only real job is to hold up icing!

You Are a Bad Girl
You are 30% Good and 70% Bad
You're a total bad girl, from your wild hair to tattooed toes.
But you're too badass to even care if you're labeled "bad"!
Are You a Good Girl or a Bad Girl?
Hmmm, don't know what to say! Lock up your male friends?!!?

You Are An ENFP
The Inspirer

You love being around people, and you are deeply committed to your friends.
You are also unconventional, irreverent, and unimpressed by authority.
Incredibly perceptive, you can usually sense if someone has hidden motives.
You use lots of colorful language and expressions. You're quite the storyteller!

In love, you are quite the charmer. And you are definitely willing to risk your heart.
You often don't follow through with your flirting or professed feelings. You break a lot of hearts.

At work, you are driven but not a workaholic. You just always seem to enjoy what you do.
You would make an excellent entrepreneur, politician, or journalist.

How you see yourself: compassionate, unselfish, and understanding

When other people don't get you, they see you as: gushy, emotional, and unfocused
Yep, this is pretty much me through and through!

Your Ideal Marriage Proposal Is
A Christmas proposal, with lots of snow and city lights.
This works! I'm the worlds biggest Christmas freak (dubbed the Queen of Christmas by my friends) so a Christmas proposal would work...then it would give me a year to get ready for the Christmas wedding I've always wanted!

On the soapbox!

Ok...for those of you that have read me for a bit (because I really haven't been doing this that long!) know that I have a tendency to get on a soapbox every once in awhile. This is one of those times guys! Sit down, strap in & enjoy the ride!!!!!!

I'm pretty sure that you all know by know that becoming more green is very important to me. I think its important for me but 100x more important that I do it for Princess Bear (PB). I'm a believer that what you put in your body and around your body affects every aspect of your life. My parents are to this day adamant that were I was working when I first got pregnant complicated my pregnancy and may have caused some of PB's health issues. Whether that is the case of not I don't know and I can't unring that bell. What I can do is make things as safe as possible for PB.

Last week I was on the computer and had the TV on. I wasn't really watching it but it was a Montel rerun from his living well series. It had the author of Healthy Child Healthy World on. He was very interesting. My mom & I were at Barnes & Noble on Friday night getting books to give as favors for PB's birthday party. I asked about that book and a few others. This was the only one they had in stock. It was my lucky day. This book is AMAZING!!!!!!! I really can't stress it enough....completely amazing! Packed full of really great, useful and better yet doable information. I think when people think about going green they get very intimidated. Theres a lot of information, it can seem a bit costly and at times a bit extreme. (My mom keeps on asking if she should plant a tree for my sister & I to hug). This book breaks it down in ways that you don't want to run screaming for the hills. It stresses doing small things at a time and then adding more when your ready. I can't tell even begin to explain how impressed I am with this book! It also has a great set of resource pages listed. If you can only read one book this year make it this one. Honestly! It will change your life and the lives of your kids! I won't lie and say the book is cheap (go the the library!) but its well worth its cost. There is also a website: Healthy Child

If you'd like to know some other resources I think are great feel free to drop me a line! (or stay tuned & I'll post!)

I'm so a child of the 80's!

You Belong in 1988

Wild, over the top, and just a little bit cheesy. You're colorful at night - and successful during the day.

OK....please tell me that I'm not the only one!

Ok, today didn't go quite as well for Princess Bear (PB) at school today. It was the first full day and she is still under the weather. As we're running around getting ready this morning PB announced that she doesn't want to be in kindergarten anymore. She wants to go back to Beans room...with Bella (her BFF). UGH!!! I remind her that Shea & Aidan are in her room and that she's going to have a lot of fun and learn many many new things! I also explain that she's a big girl and that a new room is a good thing. Today was also the first day of patching (her right eye has to be patched to help correct the vision in her left eye) in a long time. The Dr. gave her the summer off. Now I'm not loving the decision (though I sure was then!!!) So I finally have PB dressed and ready complete with eye patch. She is still not wanting to go. We compromise and I let her take her Strawberry Shortcake baby again (hey- it can go in the cubby right?!!?). I pick PB up from school and find out that she did pretty well. Some getting used to the new routine adjustments but nothing big. The teacher warned me that lunchtime was very chaotic and that PB is probably very hungry. She also said that PE went well for PB today...yeah!!! I hustle PB to the car and we head home. Princess Bear ate like she hadn't seen food in years. She started out with mac & cheese...ok no biggie. I was making trail bars so she added granola and raisins to her mac & cheese....can I say.....YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please tell me that my kid isn't the only one eating culinary delights like this! After snack and cuddle time my parents get home & its their nap time. PB wanted to play on the computer (can anyone tell me when my child became so proficient using a mouse?!!?). She doesn't want dinner (can't figure out why!!!) so its off to bath time. She wants Strawberry Baby to be in the bathroom....ok. Well nope not really! Strawberry wasn't sent home from school. I feel a meltdown coming. I grab her other SSC doll. This one is a "regular" SSC with hair down to its butt. Said hair is a MESS. Not kind of, not sort of but one huge honking mess. Thing one massive knot & we're on the same wavelength!!! So PB is in the bath and I start working on SSC's hair. I first drench it with detangler (ok...so against the green me but Suave apple detangler is so yummy smelling!) and set to work with a comb. I might as well been doing nothing. So SSC gets a hair dunking in the tub and a big time biolage detangler treatment. Ok....we might be getting somewhere. Now its time to bust out the big guns...heavy cream conditioner! No progress there...none, nada, nil. HUH?!!!? Back to the detangler treatment x2. In the midst of all of this PB also submerged SSC a few times. I get PB & SSC out of the bath and set to work with my Denman brush (we all all very thick hair in this family). After about 45 minutes of brushing SSC's hair is almost knot free. WOOHOO! THROW A PARTY!!!! I keep at it and we're good to go. Can I say that even knot free this doll doesn't have particularly pretty hair?!!!? Now, am I the only mom crazy enough to do this?!!!?

As for me...I'm a bit behind in chemistry. Actually going to sign off here & get cracking on that. I also hurt my other ankle but hey...that can be its very own blog!!!

Updates & more giveaways!

Sorry its been a few days....I'm still recovering! Princess Bear's (PB) birthday party was on Saturday.....at Chuck E Cheese. Next time I mention going there on a weekend please just shoot me on sight!!! That could quite possibly be the longest 3 hours of my life! On the upside of it Princess Bear had a wonderful time (other than when Chuck E himself was around & then it was back under the table!). My friend Monika gave PB a baby Strawberry Shortcake doll. PB has taken that everywhere the past few days. Up to and including.............drum roll please.....

Her first day of kindergarten. Today....enter sobs here.

My baby isn't a baby anymore!!! PB got sick yesterday. The kiddo made it through the whole summer relatively healthy and then the day before school gets an all out sinus infection. I think its because her allergies when into overdrive. She spend most of Sunday outside swimming with Maria's kids. She woke up yesterday just a complete little snotball (I say this with lots of love but seriously the kid was dripping, shooting and doing some other disgusting things with snot!). I gave her some Benadryl and was hoping for the best. I knew that I was in trouble when she took an over 3 hour nap. She woke up running 100.1 (everyone in this family runs very low and her average is 97.1). I was on the phone with the Dr's office ASAP. PB had a really rough night but wanted to go to school today so I decided to give it a shot. It was a short day anyway. All went well until I got to school to pick her up. I ran into my friend Nicole who told me that Kiernan had done very well that morning...yeah!!! Then they send parents of kindergarteners into the gym to pick up their kids. No Princess Bear. I look at Nicole and ask her if she sees PB anywhere. Nope. Trying not to let a full panic set in I finally get the teachers attention enough to find out where PB is. They sent her over to the Round (the airconditioned part of the building). PB said school was "fine". Ok...I guess all is well that ends well!
