Farm Kings Season 3 episode 5

Ok, so here I sit with Princess Bear (EP) watching the last episode of the Farm Kings.  As I mentioned in my Maggie's pregnant post last night I wasn't really in love with this episode.  Lisa was Lisa in that she is never just grateful.  I loved the scene where she's telling Joe what is wrong with the pond.  If you can get past the idiot narrator does anyone really think that the fact that the way Lisa's pond looks is costing her any business?  PLEASE!  It made me cringe when Lisa was thanking him BUT.  Growing up my mom always said that anytime your doing anything and you add the word but you're negating whatever you said before that.  Damn did I hate when she said that but she was right.  So Lisa doing a thank you but just once again shows her lack of gratefulness.  She's never ever happy with whatever it is that is done for her.  Ugh!

The whole thing with Dan being in pain was sad.  When Sam was talking about Dan wearing braces so people feel sorry for him was not so cool.  While I admire Lisa for being proactive when one of her kids is in pain and trying natural health first I'm thinking that taking Dan to the spa isn't quite the same.  I'm ALL for natural health and remedies and completely agree with her that it's better to try that first.  On the flip side of that I don't think a spa is one in the same.  The sensory deprivation tank seemed really cool though!  Dan's face just made it look like he was in so much pain during the cupping session.  Poor guy!for the

Getting ready the fall festival was interesting to watch.  Why they were so behind planning the fall festival was a bit puzzling.  It was completely unfortunate that mother nature didn't agree with them.  As always the King family delivers in their positive attitude and it will go better next year.

Hey Sarah and PB! I totally agree with your last episode! When Dan was in pain, natural first? really? He looked miserable. Whatever happened to Sam's first strawberry crop? He was working so hard on that. a big responsibility for someone his age. Mama Lisa is getting old,she wants to be the center of attention always, that is getting old. Did I notice Product Placement there with that Polaris toy vehicle thing? How did you ever find out about Maggie and the new baby? Not a surprise,we will never hear a word being it is this far and not even a word on the wedding. The Fall Festival, running behind as usual, they are spread so thin..what about shelter for the animals, they never show that..actually,the show is getting stale to me..what aboput Dan being partner, they never mention it anyomre? He would maybe do better on his own doing his own thing..thanks for the updates Sarah

Hi Sarah, long time reader. Found you because of the Farm Kings! Love your blog, PB sounds like a jewel and a precious one at that. I loved the Farm Kings...at first. I really loved what they were showing with day to day life and the real struggles they go through to operate a farm. But now it has a very "staged" feel to it. Plus, I don't like the bits and pieces they throw out there about their personal lives and then leave their audience hanging with no more info. There is far too much misleading scenes that set their audience up...with no results and answers. Too many unanswered questions. It's like they are throwing everything at the wall and seeing what sticks without any thought into what their audience might like. They are inviting us into their homes and then slamming the door in our faces once we arrive. And truth be told, I feel like it's more of the "Lisa show" than anything else. Good lord, I've never seen such an insecure, desperate for attention woman than her. And Joe is a complete jerk to most, if not all, the family. If Tim was so desperate to hide his fiancé, now wife, and Maggie's pregnancy away from any kind of media then he should have never announced his engagement in the first place. I know my assessment probably sounds harsh but this show had so much potential to show what real farming with real families was all about. I looked forward to seeing the day to day life of real farmers and their families that I once had the privilege of experiencing. Instead the show became a caricature of itself and nothing more than a mom pimping her kids out.

Bonnie- HI!!! How are you? I was getting worried since I hadn't heard from you in awhile. Natural can work. I often times try natural first. I just don't think that natural from a spa is the way to try it. Just my opinion of course. Not a word on Sam's strawberry crop. They have veered away from a lot of that and it really bothers me. You'd be amazed how many people emailed me to let me know about Maggie. It is actually kind of funny. Especially when someone in her came or even Maggie herself then leaves an anonymous comment asking how did I know that. I'm with you on the show wearing a bit thin. So many unanswered questions and it seems so staged. I won't even bother going off about the narrator again. I'm not sure if it would be possible for Dan to strike out on his own. It is a lot of work for just one person. I do wish they'd make him partner. It's definitely about time!

Lovey- so nice to “meet” you! Thanks for reading the blog and even more for enjoying it and commenting! I love hearing what others think! In a lot of ways I agree with you that this new format with everything from the narrator to the staged feel as left a bad taste in my mouth. It is in many ways the Lisa Show. Remember when Bitty once commented that it was Miss Lisa's world and they all just live in it? Exactly! I'm sure that when Tim & Maggie posted this engagement announcement in the paper they never thought it would be picked up on. Again I can't tell you how many people shared that one. I sat on it for such a long time and nothing was ever mentioned. I don't get why some of the significant others take part in filming and others don't. As far as Joe seeming like a jerk he most definitely does. He has a bit of a G-d complex in that he’s the guy in charge and always knows best. Get over yourself buddy! I know that the farming aspect is what drew me to it. Doesn’t hurt that the boys are smoking hot either but they have definitely gone in a direction that I think will lose them a lot of viewers if they don’t change back very soon. Thanks again for being a reader!
